The Nigerian Army reported significant success from coordinated nationwide operations conducted between November 29 and December 1, 2025, confirming the elimination of eight terrorists, the arrest of 51 suspects, the rescue of 27 victims, and the recovery of various weapons and stolen goods.
In the North East, specific Task Force battalions killed four ISWAP/JAS fighters during missions and repelled infiltration attempts in Borno State, recovering three AK-47 rifles, ammunition, and radio equipment. Elsewhere, in various states including Plateau, Taraba, Benue, and Delta, troops from Operations WHIRL STROKE and ENDURING PEACE rescued twenty victims, including women and a minor. Security forces also arrested a total of 51 suspects nationwide, including kidnappers, human traffickers, cultists, and a gunrunner named Shuaibu Isah (aka Alhaji), who was caught attempting to receive 1,000 rounds of ammunition. Additionally, 25 drug suspects were apprehended in Bayelsa and Rivers States in partnership with the NDLEA. Troops responding to a communal clash in Taraba State killed four violent extremists and recovered illegal weapons. Other operations involved recovering 76 rustled cattle in Plateau State, dismantling an illegal oil refining site containing 1,000 liters of stolen crude in the South-South, and intercepting a vehicle in Kaduna State carrying a large quantity of explosives, including 5,000 kg of gelatine explosives and detonators. The Army affirmed its ongoing commitment to eliminating criminal networks and ensuring national security.
