Appointing ambassadors to G20 countries may be a top priority for President Bola Tinubu.
In a post on X on Monday, Dr. Daniel Bwala, one of the Presidency’s spokespersons, provided the hint.
The President had admitted, according to Bwala, that Nigerian foreign missions’ financial difficulties were the reason for the postponement of the ambassadorial list. He pointed out that because of their strong economic ties with Nigeria, the President could strategically prioritize the G20 nations in spite of public concerns.
In order to guarantee effective representation overseas, Bwala added that the issue would be settled shortly.
“Mr. President has acknowledged the delays in the ambassadorial list, primarily due to funding constraints affecting our foreign embassies, an issue I am diligently addressing,” Bwala stated in the post titled “Ambassadorial list.” The President can strategically prioritize appointments to G20 countries, acknowledging their vital economic partnerships with us, despite the surrounding clamor. Effective representation will be ensured by the swift resolution of the ambassadorial list.
