Gov. Yusuf: The Kano by-election indicates the NDC’s weakness as a mushroom political movement

The results of the Dawakin Kudu/Warawa Federal Constituency by-election, according to Kano State Governor Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf, indicate the likelihood of the All Progressives Congress (APC) winning the general elections in 2027.

His spokesperson, Sunusi Bature Dawakin Tofa, made this announcement in a statement on Sunday.

The governor claimed that the election’s peaceful conduct and high voter turnout demonstrated the people’s continued support for the APC and its policies.

According to Governor Yusuf, the election was free, fair, and credible, reflecting the genuine desires of the electorate. He commended security services for keeping the peace during the exercise and the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for organising the poll successfully.

The governor claims that the election’s conduct and results have increased public confidence in Nigeria’s democratic system.

He urged the APC candidate to concentrate on providing effective representation for the constituency’s citizens and congratulated him on his victory.

According to Yusuf, the outcome showed that the APC is still a powerful political force in Kano State and is well-positioned for future electoral success.

In addition, the governor denounced the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) as “a mushroom political movement with no visible grassroots structure” for failing to field a candidate in the by-election.

He continued by saying that the party did not enter the race because it was afraid of losing and did not have the necessary backing to take on the APC.

According to Yusuf, the by-election demonstrated the APC’s increasing popularity among Kano residents and revealed the state’s opposition groups’ weakness.

He gave the populace the assurance that his administration would keep carrying out initiatives and programmes meant to make people’s lives better.

Additionally, the governor congratulated APC National Chairman Prof. Nantawe Yilwatda and President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on the party’s success in recent by-elections across the nation.
