Following a bench order for his arrest, African Action Congress (AAC) presidential candidate Omoyele Sowore arrived at the Federal High Court in Abuja on Monday for his trial.
Along with other members of his organization carrying banners, Sowore, the publisher of Sahara Reporters, showed up at the court.According to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), Justice Mohammed Umar revoked Sowore’s bail on June 16 after he failed to show up for his trial.
Akinkolu Kehinde SAN issued an arrest warrant after Justice Mohammed Umarin ruled on an oral motion submitted by the attorney to the Department of State Services (DSS).
Sowore is being prosecuted by the DSS for allegedly making false accusations against President Bola Tinubu by calling him “a criminal” in a post on his Facebook and “X” pages.
The court has not yet convened as of the time this report was filed. (NAN)
