Dr. Peter Mbah, the Governor of Enugu State, has urged for greater involvement of the state in the extraction of solid minerals across the country. He believes this is essential for tapping into the sector’s vast potential and aiding in national economic diversification.
Mbah lamented the country’s enormous losses due to illegal mining as well.
A statement revealed that the governor addressed members of the Senate Committee on Solid Minerals Development during their working visit to Government House in Enugu on Tuesday.
