President Bola Tinubu has been charged by Paul Ibe, a media aide to former PDP presidential candidate Atiku Abubakar, of indicting himself for the current atrocities in Benue State.
Ibe claimed that even if Tinubu is now president, his previous statement that Nigeria has no government in the wake of Boko Haram attacks was still true.
According to him, Nigeria’s ongoing violence has demonstrated that Tinubu is not a capable leader.
Ibe said this in reference to an earlier tweet from Tinubu claiming that attacks by Boko Haram under previous President Muhammadu Buhari demonstrated that Nigeria lacked a government.
In the X post, Tinubu had said: “The festering Boko Haram attacks on the Northeast and massacre of innocent citizens is concrete proof that Nigeria has no government.”
Reacting to the latest attacks in Benue State, Ibe posted on X: “President Tinubu is absolutely right — and his own words are the indictment: “The relentless slaughter in Benue, Plateau, Niger, Zamfara, and beyond is irrefutable evidence that Nigeria is on autopilot…”
“A nation bleeding under the weight of insecurity and lawlessness is a nation without leadership.

Yelwata in Benue State’s Guma Local Government Area and other communities near the Benue-Nasarawa corridor were attacked a few days ago by suspected armed herders.
The herders attacked, killing more than 300 people.
