When a plane crashes in Owerri, four people are hospitalized.

Four individuals are receiving medical treatment following a plane crash in the Imo State capital of Owerri. The incident involved a Skypower Express Cessna 172, which overturned at the Sam Mbakwe International Cargo Airport. According to the Nigerian Safety Investigation Bureau (NSIB), the aircraft was traveling from Kaduna to Port Harcourt when the crew declared an emergency and diverted to Owerri. NSIB spokesperson Mrs. Bimbo Oladeji confirmed that all four people on board survived the accident. Emergency services responded immediately, noting that no fire broke out and airport operations continued without interruption. Authorities are currently working to move the wreckage for a detailed inspection. Captain Alex Badeh Jr., Director-General of the NSIB, expressed relief over the lack of fatalities and stated that a formal investigation into the cause of the crash has commenced.
